"Another punk rock summer came and went ..."

*So knowing that I've let a ridiculous amount of entries/events slip by (including this whole summer),
I do want to post pics of tour from Clay's journal before I get back to regular updates...

and now the pressure’s coming down on you
beginning to think I’m wasting time
I’m sick of the things I do when I’m nervous
you said, you said, you said this time it’s gonna be different
hurry up and wait, don’t sleep late
it was so easy living day by day, out of touch with the rhythm and blues

I am dead and gone and lying in a church yard, still I push my barrow all the day
out of college, money spent, see no future, pay no rent, all the money’s gone nowhere to go ……
straw that broke the camel’s back.. . ……..

stay gold
I never give you my number, I only give you my situation
when you’re young, you get. … . . . …
so cheers to our rebel hearts
save me from ordinary, save me from myself

are you really that pure sir?
your parents were anxious, your cool was contagious
can’t stop listening
in bathrooms and bar rooms and dumpsters ……..?
ice cold winter sun(?)
He’s gonna crucify himself for the world’s sweet sweet sins
make friends with your eyelids drawn(?), some need a change
go and cut you hair
if he could write the headlines in the papers the very next day, it would read: violence works in mysterious ways
treading water (penelope?)
there are angels in your angles, there’s a low moon caught in your tangles
as four in the morning came on cold and boring we huddled close
I wanna go outside and let the sun hit the ground
my self aware style
catching mad stares, bass and snares
you took the suburbs out of me
I’m seeing things that used to be dreams
why do I start what I can’t finish
blame it all on the game
yes we can, yes we shall, yes we will
all the right skills
on we go drowning
an IOU
a nine to five
let ‘em know
dude
I’m only human with my cross to bear
I laughed myself to sleep
You broke like a laquered starfish
Your body may be gone, but I’ll carry you (?) in my head, in my heart, in my soul, and maybe we’ll get lucky and we’ll both live again, I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t think so, well that is that and this is this

felt you leaving before you were gone (?)
just before summer begins
got a phone call from the Lord saying “boy go get a sweater right now”
promises, promises
and she dances fantastic with legs like elastic
stay awake (?) through summer like we own the heat
……….the time of our lives, well think twice, that’s my only advice
It’s hopeless, hopeless
just any other day
I was out of touch, but it wasn’t because I didn’t know enough, I just knew too much, does that make me crazy?
on the low where the cheese at
dropping crumbs and flying thumbs
now you’d better lace up those boots
with charisma and skill
our friend
with the pillow under my head
low life, your life, (?) we’re livin’ it up
all the best dj’s are saving the slowest songs for last
hours pass through me
like it’s R&B
I just know it
gone, gone, gone
she is such an artist
tomorrow comes a day too soon
John Henry
shredded by state lines
it’s finally happening
I don’t know what I want
go back to your home town, get your feet on the ground
there’s an ocean between where I am and where I want to be
In the room above my bed you know
twelve long months on the lam
through swollen eyes
it’s not a lover I want no more, it’s not heaven I’m pining for
it was a teenage wedding and the old folks wished them well
I pass in a care buried under the influence
I do what I do and at least I'm alive
and it came to me then that every plan is a tiny prayer to father time
gotta go with my gut again
I was walking with a a ghost I said please, please don’t insist
My isolation, now there’s a sobering thought
remember the time you drove all night, just to meet me in the morning?
here’s a hand to lay on your open palm today
everybody knows that the devil started rock and roll, so get down, woah -oh, woah –oh
one thing’s for sure this is no standard life
this life will always be worth living
what would you do with no cell phone, no pager, no kinkos

get your motor running, head out on the highway
no they’ll never catch me now
Baltimore
I’m still here, right here
….bringing on our darkest days
Love is the motive, that’s why I’m killin' em
rip this page from the history books, ……back into the ocean
see all that attitude’s unnecessary dude
with my memories and photographs I have learned to love the lie
heave at the drain

we can’t believe that we’ve ever been safe
last night she said
close my eyes and I’ll be dreaming away
the next door neighbor working hard at trying to stay sober
your grandsons they won’t understand
in the pool halls the hustlers and the losers
my windows look into your bathroom
trendy New York underground fashion magazine
white frame building
portfolio
you gotta love every hour, you must appreciate
when they come around somehow they feel up and you feel down
I wanna look up look up
well Luke my friend he’s waiting on the judgment day
and I’m sorry that it took me so long to find the words
month of May
cordon bleu
in our summer skin
luminate the no’s on their vacancy sign
But I call and I call and I call
everybody must give something back for something they get
extras get on the set
from a railroad (rural)? Town
I’ll show you something but I’ll not tell you why
as memory serves I’m addicted to words and names less

*So it's been a really long time since my last update.. 16 weeks even. Definitely the longest gap in updates since I've started this journal.. Pity, because this has been one of the best summers of my life.. As it is right now I'm on tour with Chinese Horses.. Out with Civilization and Lorna Doom and having a blast.. Played the Warehouse last night and we're all staying at Chase's house now..
I figured I'd update because tomorrow is my birthday and we'll be playing Orlando... I'll be turning 23 years old...

More of a proper update when I get back home...

Good times..

*So big news at work this week: A bunch of things are getting changed around -New teams came up from training, so teams got split up, and long story short I got a new supervisor! Aaaand he's super cool.. : )
This Monday night Dirty Monday was pretty fun, and Anna (haven't seen her in forever) was up there celebrating her 21st b-day (makes me feel old)..
Tuesday night tried to get to bed early-ish.. Started in on some movies I got from the library -started watching The Outsiders (and did so every night this week while falling asleep)..
Wednesday really fun NBA JAM session.. Really glad to come home to that, as I had a really horrible day at work with brutal customers.. -what was with this week?!?
Thursday skipped out on going out as well, got some dishes done, watched some more Outsiders..
Last night after work met up with the kids at Inertia, then Mandi, Matt, Dana, Sean, Fallon, James, and Caroline came over to our house for hangin'/Sega/good talks on into the night..
This morning I'm up early for work.. : / Just finished Outsiders..
Today/tonight's gonna be a really busy day, but also really fun, so...

*So this past, past Saturday and Sunday was our camping trip.. Ended up being a lot of fun and good relaxing times.. Nice rides up and back with Dan, fire cooked food, laughs, trying to keep warm, tubing down the springs -falling and/or getting pushed in, seein' nature again.. More camping trips to come with more friends too... : )
Monday night was Dirty Monday of course
Tuesday after work skipped out on seeing Limbeck/Will Hoge, went to the My Hostage show at Wakadoo's, turned out to be so much fun, seeing as how pretty much every single one of my "core" friends was there having fun as we do.. Drove Dan back to Native Sun, then he, Mandi, and Matt came over to hang..
Wednesday night was a crucial NBA JAM night, tons of fun on and on til late, late..
Thursday night after work headed up to Imperial for Civilization, Tarantula A.D., ASG, The Sword, and Torche.. One of the best shows I've been to in a while, sooo good to see The Sword, but Civilization reeally impressed me as well..
Friday night pretty much just came home and relaxed, watched movies/whatev. rested up for the weekend...
Saturday helped my brother his fiance move/paint get everything ready in their new house out near Jax beaches.. Lots of family ended up stopping by, helping out n such.. Hung out with Josh and Dana a little bit after family left..
Saturday night hung with Chase, Clay, and Dan, went to China Joy, hangin' around the house n such..
Yesterday met up with parent's, Josh, and Dana, had some lunch, then back to the house for more painting and preperations..
Last night was the Potluck at Fallon's, nice to hang with everyone and have lots of laughs..

*This week I checked out a book from the library called "30 Florida Shipwrecks" which turned out to be just as educational as it is fun to read..
*Also checked out Home For The Holidays and I've been watching that going to sleep these past few nights..
*Also been going through some crazy feelings -among other things- mainly dealing with growing older, having your own brother getting married, getting a house, starting a grown up life of his own, seeing new cousins growing up and realizing that we're now the adults, uncles, soon to be parents of our family.. I just need to keep a good head about things and not let the feelings go to scared/negative..

Tonight is Dirty Monday, and you should come out, have some fun, and have us play a song or two for ya...

”You can get just so much from a good thing, you can linger too long in your dreams/where are they, where are they now?/I’m looking at the man in the mirror/it's strange; I'm skinny when I'm standing but I'm Buddha when I sit/sweep the black supermarket/and you can praise the clouded mind but it isn't what you are thinking it's the course of history, your position in line, you are just a piece of the puzzle so I think you had better find your place, and don't go blaming your knowledge on some fruit you ate/with a holy host of others standing ’round me, still I’m on the dark side of the moon/won’t you look down upon me Jesus, you’ve got to help me make a stand, you've just got to see me through another day/stop living under the weight, living under the weight of regret/gatekeeper/It’s a great escape/and I’m not stopping, I’m not stopping now…”

*So Wednesday night after work headed to Adam and Rachel’s place for dinner and hangin’ with the groomsmen and some old friends from High School.. Watched the Simpsons til late, then watched Adam and I’s Gifted Senior Video ‘Changes’.. hahaha
Afterward I stayed with my Dad at my parents’ house, got a good night’s sleep, headed to work the next day..
Thursday after work went over to Dana’s appt. to pick up some camping stuff that Josh and her are letting me borrow… That night didn’t wanna go out, and needed sleep anyway, so just hung in and read..
Friday at like 5:30 am James and Caroline came over to crash cus Caroline’s power went out and someone may have broken in her house(?)..
Last night stopped by Dana’s place again, then ran into Keith at Publix, did some shopping, then he came back to the house with me, hung with him and Clay, then Clay and I watched Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, and I crashed on the couch.. Skipped out on seeing the Coachella movie at San Marco Theater.. : /
This morning had to be up early and work, but it really wasn’t bad at all.. Now waiting for Dan to get here, then off to meet up with Fallon and Clay for our camping trip… : D

*Oh and I finished reading The Outsider..

"I read a paperback and I wanna come home/chemical bank/ha ha ha show me what you got/clear and bright/feel the sun burning inside us all/then send me a card, I'm still the optimist, though it is hard/between rupture and rapture/I have read the right books to interpret your looks/that is that and this is this/the twenties seem to mark ourselves with wrinkles in our skin/pulling teeth/does anybody know a way that a body could get away, does anybody know a way?/something’s gotta give/creeping like vines over me/or will our conscience win the fight?/you keep losin' when you oughta not bet/there’s no backing out, this is gonna be reality/there’s no right way or wrong way you just have to live/Carl Jung/these struggles change us/there’s gonna be a heartache tonight/and make you more aware with its absence at night, when you are wrapped up in your blanket baby, that comfortable cocoon/the more we move ahead the more we’re stuck in rewind/on a Sunday afternoon/I’m the same as I was when I was six years old, and oh my God I feel so old/hold on to sixteen as long as you can, change is coming ‘round real soon, make us women and men/we are the ones, we are the ones/sometimes I pray I don't die/youth is arrogant/on the radio/dirty deeds and they’re done dirt cheap/trip down the stairs into hell/so what’s it gonna take silver shadow believer?"

*So Thursday I finished reading Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs (took too long reading that one..) Thanks to Caroline for letting me borrow it..
Thursday night coming home from work got a speeding ticket; multiple cop speed trap on 17.. I’m just thankful I got it when I’m living on my own, and not back when I was living with my parents when I couldn’t afford it..
Friday night after work came home for a bit, then rode up with Clay to Imperial for Ladies Night, hung around there for a while then went to a party just down the street from us, met some nice new kids, hung out there til late, then Clay split, and I walked home..
Saturday morning things around house done, then headed out to spend the day with my dad, seeing as how my mom’s outta town for a couple weeks.. Went and got some lunch, then played pool for a while in OP, some driving around, then stopped by some carnival type thing going on at this church just to walk around n see what was happening.. haha Nice day with him..
Saturday night came home for a bit, then headed up to the show at Imperial. Caught First Blood, then Ignite (really cool to see them/hear them play/sing along to their old stuff), then left a few songs into Comeback Kid’s set.. Came back home, hung with Clay, Dan, Keith, then Fallon came over.. Had some fun/hilarious conversations til late, late and Dan ended up staying over..
Sunday morning Clay, Fallon, Dan and I went out for breakfast/early lunch at Metro Diner, Fallon split and we waited at the house for James, then we all headed out to practice at Keith’s.. Pretty good practice and we wrote a new Chinese Horses song.. After practice we all went to Publix for a bit to visit Josh, then he met us at Hot Wok when he got off.. Ate, then acted like hoodlums in the parking lot carrying on, and played some Cee-lo then split..
Sunday night James, Dan, Keith, Josh, and Jodie came back over, James split with Caroline, and the rest of us went walking around our neighborhood heading toward Publix to dumpster dive.. Good walk with fun times and laughs, then we got stopped by a cop for no reason and he checked all of our IDs.. Ended up skipping on Publix, walked back to the house and hung there for the rest of the night..
Monday Sam met up with me for lunch, caught up with her and such..
Monday night Dirty Mondays was fun, good to have friends up hangin’ out til late, played some pool, then played some Cee-lo and I lost several games of that.. : /
Yesterday Kateri met me for lunch, good to catch up with her as well..
Last night made some food, hung around the house with Clay, looked at Google Earth and all (crazzzy), and laid some tracks down on Garage Band..

*Tonight going to Adam's to hang with the groomsmen...
The rest of this week getting things ready for camping this weekend... : )

"On the banks of the river running through downtown, a show tonight with sweet, sweet sounds/Reggie Miller/random I am/they warn you about killers and thieves in the night, I worry about cancer and living right/let's talk about/whatever/very despondent/a Sunday/rest easy/rest assured/pick a banjo now/inspired/are we killing time, are we killing each other?/time sifts through my fingers/healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls once again/the heart attacks I'm convinced I have every morning upon waking/dark and jaded world I’ve hated everything I left behind, I don’t need you and I don’t want you, world that left me blind/life is hard, and so am I/so everybody put your best suit or dress on, let’s make believe that we are wealthy for just this once/I miss the innocence I’ve known/make war oh war on who you were before/give away myself in bloody strips/drinkin', drinkin', drinkin', drinkin', coca-coca-coca-cola. *So over a week, no update.. Been really busy -and almost- unusually productive for me (and I feel good about that).. These past days have been a lot of fun too.. Growing a little more, and doing it in the company of great friends..
Last Thursday night rode up, met up with Joey and Tylor at Casbah and rode bikes up to TSI for Clay and Brendon's DJ night.. Hung for a while playing pool with the kids and all, good music, then caught a ride home with Dana, watched some of True Grit, then fell asleep.. Pics from the night...
Friday night went up to Ladie's Night at Imperial, stayed a little longer than usual, had a lot of fun, finally came home to watch some more True Grit and fell asleep during again..
Saturday slept in, then Caroline and James came over, James brought his new "Guitar Hero" over and we played that, and hung til Clay got home and left, then we headed up to European Street and had some lunch, back home to hang some more, watched some Ali G., then they split and I waited around for Clay, then we headed up to Fuel for the show.. Good to see all the bands out supporting My Hostage, fun atmosphere, and we had a really good time playing our set, -and good to have people respond/seem to enjoy it.. Afterward Keith, Dan, (the newly met) Mike, and Fallon came back to the house and we hung, had some laughs, played some NBA JAM, watched some Ali G., and everyone ended up staying over..
Sunday morning slept in, finished watching True Grit, James came over, and we headed to Keith's for practice, Dan came during, then came back to the house with me, we ate, watched some Ali G., then we headed out to St. Auggie where we played a kinda last minute show at Fusion with Gettysburg and some more of their friends' bands.. Chase, Stephanie, Melody, of course all the Tallahassee kids, and Matt came out and it ended up being a really good/fun night.. Didn't play as well as we felt at Fuel the night before, but great to hang out in the company of all those kids, and watch some (actually really good) bands.. After the show, we headed back to Chase's for some hanging, then back to Jacksonville with Dan riding with me.. Totally dudes weekend and it was a blast.. : D

This week at work we had a whole "Customer Contact Appreciation Week" where we had a themed dress for every day of the week.. It was pretty fun, nice to where comfortable/silly clothes and just have something different going on..
Monday night Dirty Mondays of course, had some fun when some really good kids showed up later..
Tuesday at work had a really bad day and I just did not feel like being there.. That day we had a "dress to impress" theme and everyone that participated did a walk around the whole floor "Project Runway" style.. I wore my blazer I got for 2 bucks at the Tallahassee dirt mall -haha, and I didn't (wanna) participate in the walk.. : P After work went to Inertia for the show.. Saw Counterclockwise (fun/unusual/impressive) and left during The Can Kickers' set.. Good to hang out and see some kids, and be out of work after that rough day..
Wednesday at work I floor walked for over an hour again, and we also had a system shutdown for a long time..
Wednesday night NBA JAM night with James, Keith, Dan, Josh, and Joey.. Ended up not having a prominent/proper tournament; got sidetracked making music on Garage Band with James, and everyone just hung out.. Much later that night tho, had a bit of a game session with Dan, James, and Clay and it was pretty crazy/fun..
Thursday night went up Yesterdays with Dan, Keith, Angela, Dana, Rachel, Leah, Kyle, Fallon, and Ashley..
Friday night my brother and his gf came over just to hang n spend time together.. Made some dinner, played around on garage band, watched some funny/nostalgic video clips/shows on you tube, then they split and I played a little late night NBA JAM..
Saturday morning slept in really late, got up did some laundry and such, then Fallon came over, we made/ate some lunch, then waited around for Clay to get home, then we all went on a really nice bike ride through Ortega and the bridge and such.. Afterward we went over to Fallon's house to watch her and Clay's skydive video.. Then went out to dinner at European street.. Came back home and I tried to take a quick nap while watching some of Walk The Line, but I couldn't fall asleep..
Saturday later night Keith, Dan, Josh, Joey, Mandi, Neil, and two of his friends came over to hang.. Watched some silly tv, just chililn' n so on..
Sunday morning James came over and he, Clay and I headed over to Keith's for practice.. Afterward we went to China Joy and Publix n whatnot, ran into friends n chatted..
Sunday night was our show at Imperial.. Skeleton and the Girl Face Boys cancelled (or just didn't call-whatever) so we had a small friends show, and it was fun just for that aspect.. Keith's stuff (Iron Eyes Cody) sounded really good, same with Bombass Rhombus, and our set (tho we had several technical difficulties) was still pretty fun to play.. Came back home and watched some very nostalgic tv clips on you tube with Clay and Fallon, watched an episode of Doug, started watching The House of Yes, then crashed..
Yesterday work wasn't too bad -actually went by kinda quick-feeling- which is exciting cus work days are alwayyys sooo longgg (about a couple hours longer than what you think you should be able to physically/mentally take most days..)
Dirty Monday was pretty fun, and afterward we all played a wicked game of Cee-lo on into the night late..
Today I was super tired of course, glad to get out n head home, shopped, made some dinner, watched The House Of Yes with Clay in its entirety..

*And Josh asked Dana to marry him the other night.. She said yes of course...

"We’re so close but still so far away/pink, pink, pink, pink, pink moon/Casmir Pulaski day/I will dream with you the night of our wedding/and you will wake up 45/the desperation/women and men, what a magic combination/I'd rather be lonely, I'd rather be free, I'm as sure as the moon rolls around the sea/what are you changing, who do you think you’re changing?/hold the line/you try to save face/we open up the lens and can't stop/well the word is out/these are my friends/singing songs of freedom and hope/the smoke came out our mouths on all those hooded sweatshirt walks/my walk had purpose, my steps were quick and light/it's time to put the act in action/oh baby/your little hoodrat friend/I hear hey, hey, hey, hey, come polinate me hey/we all assumed that it would go back to normal soon/the pain in your heart is rock and roll, the tears in your eyes is rock and roll/some singers want their shows, and some singers want their names known throughout, me I'm just happy on my own, me I'm just happy with my soul/keep free of negative thoughts/how real this life really gets..."

*So this weekend was Adam's wedding and all..
Friday had off work, got some things ready, then met up with Adam and Harley in OP and we caravanned up to GA.. I read (book on cd) The Old Man And The Sea on the way up.. We got lost in another town and ended up being awkwardly late, but we (as well as all the groomsmen friends) remained in good humor as always..
Saturday was the wedding and reception and everything went really well.. I still feel bad that Clay and Sara got up there just late enough to barely miss the actual wedding ceremony.. : / And still surreal to see Adam getting married, but good to be a part of it and enjoy the fellowship of all the friends and families.. -I had a good time.. : )
Saturday night caravanned back with Harley, Clay, and Sara.. Nice to spend time with them again and catch up.. Got back home late, had to take Harley and Sara back to Middleburg, decided it was late and I was tired, so ended up skipping out on Tylor's b-day at Bennigan's.. Came back home and hung and crashed at my parent's house -the first time I've spent the night there since I left..
Sunday left and ran some errands then met up with Keith for some lunch before practice. Practiced for something like 5 or 6 hours or so, wrote a new song, brushed up for the show... Afterward came back home, got some things done, and unexpectadly got a surprise visit from Sean, Sarah, Rae, and some (newly met) kids riding through on their bikes..
Sunday night later Sara, Harley, and (the newly met) Tiffany came over to hang for a while, see the house and all, then we headed up and met up with the kids at Yesterdays.. Came back for a bit, watched some Ali G., then they split..

"I’m staring at the sun, waiting for it to explode, cause the day is gonna come, don’t know when but it will come/in my bed, there was a loophole in my dreaming, so I got out of it/fuel burning fast on an empty tank/don’t let ‘em get in your head they try and probe you/these dreams will be my anchor, these dreams will be the death of me/just sick about the things I wish I could give up; just sick about the things that just won’t let me go/this town is kind of like a ghost town/desperate youth parade/maybe I’m just like my father/wasted hours/I can't get no relief/when I woke up this morning, could've sworn it was judgement day/the difference between the sprout and the bean/oh no, it's not me/what if I stumble, what if I fall/when I'm high as a kite, I just might stop to check you out/the check when it arrived we went dutch, dutch, dutch, dutch/everything is everything/he then played every song from 1993/does she test me, does she know/there but for the grace of God go I..."

*So this weekend went pretty much like I had hoped, got the majority of things done that I needed to, and got some good rest, seeing as how it was a 3-day weekend for me and all..
Friday night after work James and Caroline came over and hung for a bit, then split, then Keith, Dana, and Sean came over for a while, then we all headed out to Ladies Night at Imperial..
Saturday had to get up early for work (only 4 hours) then met up with my parents and grandmothers and had some lunch, split, and I did some shopping, came back home, started watching 2046, and took a nice long nap..
Sunday Clay and James rode out with me to Keith’s house for practice, then we headed out to Amber’s house for her birthday party.. Good friends/kids/food/kid games/pinatas.. Fun(ny), fun times.. Pics from John Arvin's journal
Afterward I went up to Jackrabbit’s for the Of Montreal show, but it was sold out.. Ended up getting Clay, coming back home and watching Half Baked -hah and fell asleep..
Monday was my holiday off work, slept in, finished watching 2046, went out to run some errands, met up with Josh W. at Target, then we met up and had lunch with Tylor and Brittany at China Buffet.. Came back home, rested for a little while, then headed up to Imperial for Dirty Monday..
Tuesday at work was a pretty rough day..
Tuesday night met up with Rachel, Clay, James, Dan, Keith, Dana, Angela, and Leah at Yesterday’s.. Played a couple games of pool, had some laughs, unwound..
Wedesday finished Breakfast Of Champions and also started reading (book on cd) Metamorphosis..
Wednesday night went to London Bridge after work to meet up with the kids for Clay's 22nd birthday celebration.. Pics from Mandi's journal
And Clay got a new mac laptop from his mom, so he can stop using my computer.. haha
Today picked up my tux before work, floor walked for over an hour today at work.. Found out after work that Vystar messed up things with my funds again.. I'll have to get that taken care of later...
Tonight finished Metamorphosis, got things, plans, and such ready for Georgia and the wedding and all that starting tomorrow...

*I got informed this weekend that my brother and his girlfriend Dana are buying a house out near the beaches and moving in as early as the end of March… Aaand on top of that he is also going to ask her to marry him… Crazy.. Especially cus I found out through my mom pretty much nonchalantly..
And crazy cus Adam is getting married this weekend…

It’s like Mandi and I discussed: it’s all a huge reality check..

*This week at work I got a letter congratulating me on my 1 year anniversary with Select Portfolio Servicing..

Time keeps moving on…

Time:2:52 am.
Mood: exhausted.
Music:Billy Joel - Keeping The Faith.
"Tiny hands/while I held you with our undry eyes, have the years pass by, it's ok to cry/February, Valentines Day, did my best to avoid the red cliches/dropping brides at the altar/Eryn Smith/hey, momma rock me/salad days/I'm gonna let it happen/and the only constant thing was the constant reminder he'd never change/soon you're being told to recognize your heirs, no, not me; I'm an island of such great complexity/you can pay Uncle Sam with overtime, is that all you get for your money? It seems such a waste of time, If that's what it's all about/it's like a valentine from your mother, it's bound to melt your heart/the worlds collide, but all that I want is a shady lane/let's start today..."

*So this first half of the week (especially the first two days) has been really bearable/fast-seeming/actually good.. The new team's coming along well, and everyone's starting to get more comfortable/friendly.. Which reminds me: I ran into good ol' Sara again at the end of the night as I was leaving work, and she was coming into the building for a visit.. : )
Monday started reading Breakfast of Champions on my breaks..
Monday night Dirty Monday dance party with just our group of friends and Fallon's b-day n such..
Tuesday finished 5 People You Meet In Heaven..
Tuesday night got some eats then headed to Mandi's to hang with her, Sofia, and Josh.. Watched America's Funniest Videos, played some video games, then watched Grizzly Man (crazy) and some choice bonus material, came back home late, late..
Tonight NBA JAM tournament with Josh, James, Clay, Chad, Tylor, Joey, Dan.. Kinda worried about my lack of good sleep/early-ish morning wake-ups the whole week..

So now, sleeeeep...

"Money's tight, nothing's free/pulled in all directions/and I know nothing's free/grease the tracks/chain me free/now where am I supposed to live?/Eddie/dipsey doodle/smiley smile/can't take the kid from the fire, take the fire from the kid/you said the distance would make a difference, but it didn't/your eyes/the days get longer and the nights smell green/muscle tone and tears/my tummy, it's round and firm and funny/lift us up/time makes you bolder, even children get older, and I'm getting older too/the local rock group down the street is trying hard to learn their songs/and this is the soundtrack playing in back of our restless lives, and though they make no sense, these are the moments we'll remember for the rest of our restless lives/God loves his children, yeah.."

*So at work this week we got another new team in and on the floor.. That, and my whole team has been pretty much scattered all over the place -and Tiffany had to move to another cubicle and not across from me anymore.. : [
Tuesday I finished reading Fahrenheit 451 and also started reading (book on cd) The 5 People You Meet in Heaven..
Wednesday night was, of course, NBA JAM tournament with Clay, James, Josh, Joey, John A., Dan, and Keith.. I kinda turned in early, tired..
Thursday morning dropped by my grandmother's house for a visit before grabbing lunch, and work..
Thursday night came home and hung with Clay playing NBA JAM, some cleanup, and reading.. Picked up and started reading Anthem..
Friday night met up with Chad, John Arvin, Rachel, Fallon, and Dana at Mossfire Grill for dinner and talks.. Afterward split and went to London Bridge with Chad and John Arvin -watched some nutty drunk old people, and played a mean game of Skittles.. Skipped on going to the Pit..
Saturday woke up, got some things together and headed out to my parent's house.. Stopped by a new library on the way.. Had a really nice day with the 'rents -lunch, chats, catching up with things.. Afterward got ready and headed to Stacy's wedding reception in OP.. Pretty nice time seeing her, meeting her new husband, catching up with old friends and their parents and so on.. Came home, jammed some on Garage Band, then Keith and Dana came over and Clay and I headed out with them to Imperial for Hip Hop Heck.. Pretty crazy fun watching rap battles n such.. Afterward all of us, and Fallon and Rachel headed out to look for late night eats.. Went to 3 different restaurants (all packed or too long of a wait), then finally to Steak n Shake.. Ended up staying out til 4 something..
This morning got stuff together, and Clay, James, and I rode out to Keith's for practice.. Jammed a good 5 or 6 hours, wrote 2 songs and recorded them.. : )Afterward we all went to get Chinese food with Keith and Neil's mom..
Tonight Keith came back over, hung for a bit, I did more Garage Band jams and got two songs laid out and saved -fun stuff.. I finished up reading Anthem.. Then we all met up with everyone at Imperial for My Hostage's acoustic show..

Another work week starting tomorrow, sheesh...
Dirty Monday tomorrow as well...

"On the blue blood streets of Boston/these boots are made for walking/and a hard rain’s gonna fall/Paul Revere/fresh, dressed like a million bucks/the sight of bridges and balloons makes calm canaries irritable/bedsheet covered with sand/exits to freeways twisting like knots, jewels cleaving skin between breasts/I was never cool enough to get a job at a record store/I could take care of everything, I could pick for you the songs that you sing/you can’t dance and stay uptight/it’s half past ten, it’s getting late, but the night is young, and I can’t wait/holes/basically/wasted thumbs/it seems the artists these days are not who they seem/I’ve read some books/boys will be boys, hiding in estrogens and wearing aubergine dreams/this is our city of the dead/and I find myself knowing the things that I knew which is all that you can know on this side of the blue..."

*So this past weekend was the Boston trip.. Headed out with Clay, Mandi, and John Arvin. Got to Orlando, ate Garden Café, Matt met us up there, then we headed to stay with Kathryn at her place.. Did some walking around Orlando with her, art gallery, stopped for tea, then watched episodes of The Office on into the night.. Got up way early in the morning for the flight..

Boston was a fun place to see and visit.. Not too terribly cold, but it did rain quite a bit while we were there..
Lots of walking around streets/neighborhoods/buildings, bus/subway rides, really good restaurants with some vegan specialties and bars, record/bookshops, met up with Fallon of course, and some (newly met) cool kids, took some good pics, played in a little snow, watched some good movies/tv at the appt..
Panic! At the Disco played the Saturday night we were there, but I’m sure it was sold out, and I didn’t wanna sit through that whole show.. Clay, Mandi, and I did actually split and went to the Some Girls/Sex Positions show at a church that night instead, but the show took forevvverrr to start, and we had to leave to meet back up with everyone.. Picked up a pretty cool little zine the Some Girls singer wrote.. Speaking of, also got some more good finds from record/book stores: The Refreshments – Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy (thanks to Mandi for finding it), and (all on tape): PM Dawn, Biz Markee – Goin’ Off, Capital Dance Beats 1989, and Violent Femmes – The Blind Leading The Naked. And a cool can light and random record from an antique store.. Also got a book on proper disposal of trash and household items (which I’ll prolly end up donating to Josh and the Inertia library)…

Big thanks to Rhianna and her roommates for letting Mandi and me stay with them. And thanks to Rhianna’s bf Rob for taking us to all different places around the city.. : )
Flight back got cancelled, and we had to catch an earlier flight out.. Nice plane ride back, this time with Fallon with us..
Matt picked Mandi and me up from the airport and took me back to Kathryn’s work and to get my car.. Pretty nice ride back home, listened to the whole Refreshments cd and such.. Got back just in time to catch the last play of the Super Bowl and see who won and everything.. haha

Dirty Mondays was fun this Monday -some new kids and old kids who haven’t been there in a while..
Last night after work went out to UNF/Wakadoo's for the My Hostage show.. Hung out with a lot of good friends, lots of laughs, and My Hostage did a really good job playing.. Fun, fun night..
Tonight NBA JAM tournament...

*So Monday at work, Randall quit.. : [ He gave me his contact info and all, so I talked to him, and he’s got his own side business thing he’s doing now, and he’s gonna be cool, still, lame that he won't be around anymore…
Monday night dirt Monday was fun and all, then all staff/friends hung around late, late..
Tuesday work, more reading, making food, trying to get to bed early..
Yesterday had problems with my bank totally messing up my account(s) and getting charged bogus sounding fees, etc. Had to go up to the bank to find out what in the world was going on, then my mom stopped by and she even went up there and found out more/got to the bottom of it while I was at work.. But of course the whole experience was stressful/exasperating for me.. Especially in the face of: rent being due, trip coming up, things I need to buy... But I think everything got pretty much cleared up/worked out..
Last night was supposed to go to St. Auggie to see Kaki King, but I called before leaving work, and it was sold out.. Gahh. But, I've been dissapointed with missing shows before, and will again... So whatareyagonnado?
Came home tho, just in time for Wednesday NBA JAM night at the house with Clay, James, Dan, Ross, Tylor, Josh, and Keith.. Good dudes, hilarious times, crazzzy games.. : )

Today I work a half day at work, then it's: Home to pick up Mandi, Clay, and John Arvin, and we're heading to Orlando, hanging/staying with Kathryn, then up tomorrow morning, to the airport, then to Boston...

I'm gonna use the rest of this short entry to post past pics of:

Clay and my's trip to NY
(it's just Clay's pics -mainly of graffiti.. Mine are either A. Polaroids I haven't scanned or B. Regular film I've yet to develop...)

*So Monday morning finished watching Ray before work..
Monday night’s Dirty Monday was really fun, good to have friends out, and for some reason we stayed after really late.. Didn’t get to bed til 4:30 something..
Tuesday was tired especially at the mid/end of the day, and also started reading a book that Clay gave me on the theoretical understanding and philosophical analysis of “bullcrap” written by a Princeton professor.. haha
Tuesday night Mandi and Sofia came over and Mandi, Clay, and I got our tickets for Boston… : ) Then we headed out and got coffee, went back to Mandi’s, stayed up late watching Me and You and Everyone We Know, and I crashed there.
Wednesday morning got up and went to Native Sun, said hey to Amber and Keith, picked up some foods before work..

Thursday finished reading the “bull” book at work..
Thursday night Fallon, Chad, (the newly met) Danielle, and Mandi came over to hang for a bit before we split and went up to Eclipse to meet up with Dan, Rachel, Keith, Angela, etc.. Pretty ok night and all, ended up staying late, late, then P.B. and I had to escort, and take care of a very intoxicated Mandi at my house..
Friday at work had a year end progress meeting and it was a scene straight out of Office Space.. haha
Friday night came home and just chilled for a little bit, then later in the night Alison and Josh came over and watched Happiness til we fell asleep, then they split..
Saturday had a nice relaxing morning, then met up with Mandi and Matt (finally back in town) and went to Tangerinefest.. Nice weather and really nice event.. Good to see some friends I haven't seen/talked to in quite a while.. Nice to see everyone out and enjoying themselves.. Afterward came back home for the rest of the afternoon..
Saturday night James came over and he Clay and I drove out to Mandi and Matt's, Keith came, all hung for a while, then Keith, James, Clay and I headed out to St. Augstine... Chase's 22nd birthday, and went to Stephanie's house for a crazy ol' toga party.. Actually a really fun time and met a lot of new kids, hilarious times/pictures ensued.. Afterwards failed Denny's run with the kids, then back to Chase's new house, then James and I split to take Ruri to a friends house, went to Steak n Shake on the way back, met back up with the kids from the party again and ate a lil, then back to Chase's to crash..
This morning woke up, and we all went to Loose Screws (where I got a copy of Thursday - Full Collapse on vinyl for cheap), then to lunch at Manatee Cafe.. Got back into Jax, James Clay and I hung, went to the store, then made our dishes for the potluck...
Potluck at Fallon's house, good food and good friends as usual.. : ) After party at Yesterday's, but I didn't stay long, got Keith to drive me home..
This weekend has been a total eventful blast but I'm tired, and need to get to bed...

Pics from the Toga Party!

"So, I've made peace with the falling leaves; I see their same fate in my own body/now boy, it’s running out quick/people don’t you wonder, how the Lord has brought you under?/well I've been to a minor place, and I can say I like its face. If I am gone and with no trace, I will be in my minor place/fish are jumping/just get on a plane and do it, and forever be free/how do I get back there/it’s late in the day, and you’re well on your way, what was golden went grey, and I’m suddenly shy/would'nt it be nice if we were older?/and when I see you, I really see you upside down, but my brain knows better, it picks you up and turns you around/if you're going my way, I want to ride it all night long/into North Caroline..."

*So this weekend started out really rocky for me, but overall it turned out to be very nice..
Friday night went out and skated down to Stinson park and sat out for a little bit.. Afterward Fallon came over, ate some dinner with her and Clay, then Dana came over, watched some Nirvana vids with Clay, then Dana and I watched some of The Corperation and she stayed over..
Saturday morning got up and finished reading Lovesick Blues: The Life Of Hank Williams..
Saturday afternoon picked up Alison and had a really cute little outing/day with.. Went to a sorta yard sale and I got a really awesome vintage record player for $20!, then to lunch at China Joy, then to the library, returned/picked up some more stuff, ran into Joe, Erick, and Christina outside, then took Alison back home to James and Clay, and Clay's mom and her friend got us a free washer and dryer.. Sweet deeal : )
Saturday night went back to China Joy with Clay, Fallon, James, Chad, and John Arvin.. Afterward the boys came back for a dude party and Josh came over and joined us for a sweet NBA Jam tournament.. Everyone split and I stayed in, watched some more Corperation..
This morning finished watching it, then got ready n such, went out and met up with Adam, his new soon to be wife Rachel (super awesome girl!), Harley, Josh, Mike Davey, and the rest of the groomsmen at China Buffet, ate, then went to the mall for our tux fittings and all.. Hung around the mall for a little while, then we split..

"All I know is I feel better when I sing; burdens are lifted from me, that is my voice rising!/they don't know when but a day is gonna come, when there won't be a moon and there won't be a sun..."

*So I usually never do this (update about my feelings) but a few things have been culminating at work and been getting me pretty worked up for a while, and tonight about 20 minutes before closing I got this horrendous call that I had to deal with, with this lady.. I shouldn't have let it get to me, but it seemed to just tear me up inside.. Ugghhhh I can't articulate it unless I got into specifics but it just really stuck with me all through to the end of work and when I got out as well.. It just seemed to cap off the stress/worry/ and overall ill feelings I've had surrounding me at work for some time now..

And all this doesn't help coupeled with the thoughts I've been swarmed with lately about the fact that everything in this world is wholly fleeting, and it makes me want to scream out to my friends/loved ones/everyone I know to please accept free salvation and please, please, please, please, please, please, please don't go to to hell...
and to ask me anyything you want to about that
